Iowa International Center Work

During my spring 2022 semester at Iowa State, I worked virtually with Iowa International Center as a marketing and communications intern. Iowa International Center is a nonprofit organization located in Des Moines that centers its work around a mission to enrich lives and create pathways to prosperity for immigrants and refugees who make Iowa their home. The organization works to fulfill this mission by providing programs and services that build international understanding and bridge the gap between Iowans and the world. As Iowa International Center’s marketing and communications intern, I helped spread their mission through engaging owned content across several media channels and a wide variety of projects. Articles

While helping with Iowa International Center's monthly e-newsletter, I had the opportunity to write a few articles. These included an intern alumni update article to advertise the organization’s summer internship program, a community spotlight about a woman business owner in honor of Women’s History Month and a Passport to Prosperity 20th anniversary article highlighting the accomplishments of past honorees to promote the opening of 2022 award nominations (learn about Passport to Prosperity here).
